Fabio Bucciarelli and Malike Sidibe, the 2020 Lucie Impact Award Honorees, received their well-earned awards.

Each year the Impact Award is given to a photographer whose image or body of work has created a difference in that given year. This year there were two. The timeliness, and importance of their extraordinary work was shared with the global photography community on January 28th, 2021, live via Zoom.

The full 18th Annual Lucie Awards ceremony was postponed due to the extended closure of Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York City, and the uncertainty of the worldwide pandemic. The remaining nine extremely deserving honorees, Peter Magubane (Lifetime Achievement), Paul Caponigro (Achievement in Fine Art), Lynn Goldsmith (Achievement in Portraiture), Pamela Hanson (Achievement in Fashion), Jean-Pierre Laffont (Achievement in Photojournalism), David Hurn (Achievement in Documentary), Joel Sartore (the Humanitarian Award), Steven Sasson (inventor of the digital camera Spotlight/Visionary Award), and Bob Martin (Achievement in Sports), were honored later, during the 2021 online celebration.
