Saher Alghorra
2023 Impact Awards Winner
Alghorra born in 1997 in Gaza City, Palestine. Saher attended University of Palestine, graduating with a degree in public relations, media, and photography. Saher got his first camera in 2017. Encouraged during the period of beginning his studies, set out to document adventures and his daily life.
And the beauty of his city, until the wars changed, his orientation in narrating the beauty and his life in Gaza changed to narrating the destruction that befell his city in order to convey what was happening to the outside world.
Saher began his work as a photojournalist in 2021 with many international agencies and institutions as a freelance photojournalist, and his work began to spread in international newspapers and agencies such as the British newspaper The Guardian, Time magazine, The Telegraph, etc., etc. Saher Alghorra in July of 2023 became ZUMA Press Wire Service Chief Photo-Journalist in Gaza. 2023, an image of his was chosen as one of TIME Magazine 100 best photos of the year.
2024, won Communications Arts Photography Annual, Best-in-Show for his coverage for ZUMA in Gaza during ongoing war.
