Atia Darwish; a Palestinian photojournalist from the Gaza Strip.
I have been working in the field of photography since 2008.
I have participated in many local and international exhibitions and won 5 local and international awards.
On the 14th of December 2018, I was directly hit in the eye by a tear gas canister fired by the Israeli occupation forces while covering the Great March of Return, due to which I lost sight in my left eye and was forced to undergo critical surgery.
However, my injury has never stopped me from fulfilling my duty and pursuing my career as a photojournalist, which has always been my love and passion.
I was, am and always will be dedicated to photojournalism, and my camera will always be by my side as my best companion.
