Vivienne Westwood’s collection was reminiscent of the 4th-century clothes. While observing the designer’s clothes, for GPB was immediately clear to get inspiration from Hans Holbein’s paintings. Hans Holbein was the official portrait painter of the English court, in particular the Henry VIII’s personal painter. He was one of GPB’s favorites painter for the realism he used to represent his subjects, through the attention to the smallest details and a precise psychological rendering. In particular, the character he represented in this shot was the Favorite.
