Paul Ratje

Originally from Mesilla, New Mexico, Paul Ratje studied at New Mexico State University and earned a bachelor’s in photojournalism and foreign languages. His passion for photography and love for languages pushed him abroad to Taiwan, where he lived for 5 years. He currently lives in his home region of southern New Mexico and El Paso, Texas, where he focuses his lens on stories of immigration on the U.S.-Mexico border. He is a frequent contributor to Agence France-Presse, and freelances for The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Reuters and the Washington Post.
