2025 Honoree / Spotlight/Visionary Award
CAMERA – Centro Italiano per la Fotografia is a non-profit private foundation, established in Turin in 2014, with a space open to the public since autumn 2015.
CAMERA wants to be the point of reference for the diffusion of photographic culture in Italy, through exhibitions, meetings, educational activities, courses and workshops, in order to increase knowledge, stimulate confrontation, raise questions and deepen the telling of reality through images.
CAMERA addresses all audiences. The culture of inclusion permeates all the foundation’s activities, in line with the disseminating and social mission expressed in its Statute. Photography is the language that, also thanks to its wide diffusion, actively contributes to the understanding of the present and, particularly, to the construction of personal and collective identity and memory: being able to read and interpret this language, therefore, is a skill that everyone should be able to access without distinction.
Finally, CAMERA is a space located in the historic centre of Turin. The place was a historic school that has been given new life and has become a centre dedicated to photography at 360°.
