The Lucie Awards
announce the 2006 Honorees in conjunction with Rencontres
d'Arles at a cocktail reception for Lucies and Sarah Moon.
The 2006 Lucie Awards Honorees were unveiled to an audience
of photo editors, gallerists, photographers and VIP's at
the second annual Lucie Awards Cocktail party in conjunction
with Rencontres d'Arles on July 7. The mayor of Arles, Herve
Schiavetti introduced Lucien Clergue, the 2005 Lucie Awards
Honoree for Achievement in Fine Art and founder of the photo
festival decades ago. Clergue spoke about the importance
of the Lucies and also introduced Hossein Farmani, founder
of the Lucies. The party also presented the 2006 Lucie Award
honorees and among them is Sarah Moon, who will receive
the award for Achievement in Fine Art on October 30, 2006
at the American Airlines Theatre.

Gregory Colbert receives
his Lucie Statue for 2005 Curator of the Year - Ashes
and Snow
Internationally recognized photographer Gregory Colbert
wasn't able to receive his statue in person for the 2005
Lucie Awards Curator of the Year, but when his exhibition
Ashes and Snow opened on the Santa Monica Pier
in January 2006, The Lucie Awards organized a small party
on Venice Boulevad so that he could accept his statue in
person! The Lucie Awards organizers also announced the preliminary
round of 2006 Lucie Award Honorees.
